Here I am, up at 5am. Naturally, I'm an early riser, but I was in bed very early last night as this past weekend was a long one. . . So here we are, before the sun.

I attended a bachelorette party for a close, yet newer friend. It was such a blast, yet a nice friendly reminder that my weekend-long-bender abilities are not as what they once were. A bachelor/bachelorette party is well renowned tradition celebrated throughout many cultures. I feel they have gained the stigma of wild nights of bar hopping, mass amounts of alcohol/substances, and even promiscuity. While I cannot deny the fact that this past weekend involved a lot of alcoholic beverages, there was so much more to reflect on about this tradition. A few thoughts that came during Sunday/early Monday's Reflection:

A Solid Group of Women

I remembered how good it feels to have a great group of confident, genuine women surrounding you. I met a lot of them for the first time, but within minutes, deeper level conversations were making connections I knew would last a long time. It's so important to have a strong group of women to surround yourself. There is no better support system. If you're still looking for your girls, let's chat :)

Relationships are too Relatable

So many women of so many ages are at different stages of relationships (with boys/men). Many topics of the weekend naturally involved weddings, boyfriends, dating, etc. Many women this weekend ranged in age, yet somehow all were able to relate to one or another in some fashion. It was so reassuring to hear stories and experiences where other women were connecting and bonding over past and current situations. To the girls in their season of waiting, if we didn't see the happy love stories/relationships, we wouldn't have hope. Keep surrounding yourself with them! To the committed/engaged, enjoy this time! Keep encouraging and teaching others. To the women on the verge of a wedding, congrats girl, let's get ya hitched!! 💍

Traditions are Good

Traditions are so good! The origin of a Bachelorette party was quite wholesome back in the early 1900s - even though the perceptions and activities since then may have changed, it should be remembered that the whole event serves as a way for the bride to celebrate and bond with the women in her life, and give the opportunity for a well-deserved break from (the stresses of) wedding planning.

That's it, that's all my brain could handle post 48+ hours of minimal sleep and a liquid diet. So glad I could actually make the morning cutoff this week 😅

Xoxo, Morg

biophilia - a love of life and the living world; the affinity of human beings for other life forms

I am fascinated with our world and the idea of everlasting interconnections with other living beings, the spiritual realm, and most importantly ourselves.
