I heard our pastor preach something the other week that really stuck with me, and I woke up thinking about it, and how true it resonates in my life. The reason I didn't make the morning cutoff was because I wanted to be sure I quoted him correctly, so I obviously had to wait until I got home to check my sermon notes, but
“Coincidences happen more often when we pray.”
I read a few daily devotionals, listen to daily prayer podcasts, follow pages on social, etc., but it never ceases to amaze me when a significant verse coincidentally pops up in certain circumstances of every-day-life. Did you know there are 1,189 chapters in The Bible? To go even further, there are 31,102 versus?! Some discuss the contraries of the testaments and how they reverberate in lives today. Some people evoke with one more than the other. Old and new testaments aside, the odds are slim to have a significant verse pop up in a moment when you need it most. And, yes of course there are more “popular” and “profound” versus that are posted more than others. But, I cannot help to turn a blind eye when I’m brought His word in the exact circumstance I need it.
Frequent notable versus that coincidentally pop up:
1 Samuel 16:7 - let's not so focus on the image of the world around us, but center what is in the heart
Psalm 139 - The current book in Bible Study - Get Out of Your Head - explains a moment in the author's life where the verse coincidentally shows up in her life leading to a revelation
Philippians 4:6-7 - the verse that brought me back to my faith (stay tuned 😉)
Notable songs that coincidentally pop up in the right moments:
God works in such mysterious ways. I can't help but think of His Plan and the ~sprinkles~ he leaves for us such as songs and versus from His word. Let's keep our eyes on Him. Be alert enough to hear to His words when He brings them to you. Trust Him in all that you do. He is so so good.
Until next week. . .
Xoxo,
Morg
