Store bought may be the quicker option - but I’m I die hard home-made kinda gal. A childhood friend’s mom made this recipe around the holidays & I devoured it every year. I’m finding myself whipping up a batch this fine Sunday afternoon, so I thought I’d share how easy it really is! 😉
**Also, homemade mix allows you to leave out any of the components you leave for the bottom of the bag, and add any additional snack-ies you enjoy.
Ingredients:
(for a small batch; double or triple as you please)
1/2 c. Butter (I prefer the stick version)
1 1/2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 TSP Seasoned Salt (Lawry’s will do ;))
2 1/2 c. Corn Chex
2 1/2 c. Rice Chex
2 1/2 c. Wheat Chex
1 c. Peanuts (or nuts of your choice)
1 c. Pretzels (any shape will do)
(A few of my fav add-ins) - more pretzels
- rye chips
- chocolate chips or m&ms at the wayyy end (for melting purposes of course)
Process:
Preheat oven to 250ºF. . .yep, that’s all it needs!
Mix all your mix-ins (chex, pretz, nuts, whatever else you decide on, etc.) in a large bowl & give a good shake up
Melt the butter completely in a small bowl
Add Seasoned Salt & Worcestershire
Evenly spread your mix on a large sheet pan
Drizzle the butter mix over top
Stir the mix a bit; without dropping any on the floor (my biggest challenge)
POP that baby in for 1 hour - just be sure to give it a good stir/mix/toss every 15 minutes
Let cool on paper towel for a bit and/or enjoy while warm 🤩
If you don’t eat it all in one sitting, be sure to store in an airtight container!
